Compliance testing of communication systems using TTCN-2
Telelogic® TTCN Suite™ is the de facto standard environment for compliance testing of communicating systems. It is used worldwide to test telecom and datacom equipment ranging from built-in communication chips to huge switches and intelligent network services. The test script language of TTCN Suite, TTCN-2, is a widespread, dedicated test programming language for compliance testing and is standardized by ETSI and ISO. Telelogic TTCN Suite provides the test engineer with a powerful TTCN-2 editor and syntax analyzer, and a TTCN-2 compiler that compiles your test scripts into executable C code. The TTCN Suite also makes a TTCN-2 simulator available and, in the context of the entire Telelogic® Tau® tool kit, provides a link for conversion between SDL system designs and TTCN-2 test suites. Design using a standardized test script language
Choosing Telelogic TTCN Suite for testing means choosing TTCN as your test script language, and there are a number of compelling reasons for doing so. TTCN-2 contains exactly the test concepts needed for compliance testing of complex communicating systems. It is not linked to the actual system under test, but to the functionality of the system, which means that the test scripts can be reused for new versions of products. Data are treated separately and can be defined either in a simple TTCN data model or in the full power of ASN.1. Furthermore, the Telelogic TTCN Suite also supports Modular TTCN and Concurrent TTCN. With Modular TTCN, it is possible to define test suite components for reuse. This facilitates test component reuse, and provides a language platform for multi-user test development projects. Concurrent TTCN introduces a parallel architecture for simultaneous execution of several test components, allowing many interfaces to be tested concurrently. |
