IBM plug-ins for Eclipse-based development
IBM provides best practices and tools that extend the Eclipse environment with requirements development and management, modeling, and configuration and change management.

- Eclipse Process Framework (EPF) for Process Engineering - provides a customizable software process engineering framework, with exemplary process content and tools, supporting a broad variety of project types and development styles. EPF provides EPF Composer, a tool for authoring and publishing processes. EPF also provides exemplary processes including OpenUP, an iterative software development process that is minimal, complete, and extensible. In addition to contributing to the Eclipse Process Framework, IBM plans to offer its clients EPF Composer-based process extensions, for complex systems and software projects.

About IBM and Eclipse
IBM was unanimously elected to the Eclipse Board of Directors in 2002 and today has assumed an ongoing role of plug-in provider as well as Early Committer. IBM is a strategic supporter of Eclipse as the open source standard for systems and software development communities.
Best known for delivering an open-source integrated development environment (IDE), Eclipse has grown to more than 60 projects all founded on the Eclipse platform. But Eclipse goes well beyond a technology platform as it cultivates an open-source community and an environment of complementary products, capabilities, and services.
IBM has comprehensive involvement with Eclipse:
- Membership in the Eclipse foundation
- Early committer to the Eclipse Process Framework (EPF)
- Supporter of the Eclipse Community through attendance and sponsorship of events including:
- EclipseCon
- PluginFests
- EPF Face-to-Face meetings in the United States and Europe
